🧠 About ACEs, C-PTSD, and PTSD
Many of the challenges children, teens, and adults face today are connected to experiences of trauma, even ones that happened years ago. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) refer to difficult or harmful events during childhood, such as neglect, abuse, divorce, or growing up in an unstable home. These experiences can impact how someone feels, acts, and relates to others.
Sometimes, trauma is ongoing or layered over time, especially in cases of repeated abuse, abandonment, or systemic harm. This is called Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), and it can lead to deep emotional wounds, chronic anxiety, and difficulty trusting others.
PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, may develop after a specific traumatic event such as a car accident, sudden loss, violence, or medical crisis. It can cause flashbacks, nightmares, or a constant sense of fear.
At Empowered Harmony Counseling, we understand trauma’s lasting impact. We help children, teens, and families heal in a safe, compassionate, culturally aware space.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Led Virtual Services
Evidence-based support. Ethical leadership. Purpose-driven outcomes.
At Empowered Harmony Counseling, Psychiatry and Wellness Center, our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services are provided virtually by licensed and credentialed Board Certified Behavior Analysts. These services are flexible, accessible, and rooted in clinical excellence. Whether your family is seeking support for autism, developmental needs, or behavioral challenges, our BCBA-led virtual care is designed to meet you exactly where you are, both literally and emotionally.
What is a BCBA?
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst is a highly trained behavioral health professional with graduate-level certification in applied behavior analysis. BCBAs are experts in behavior assessment, intervention design, data interpretation, and caregiver training. They are uniquely qualified to lead ABA treatment plans that produce measurable progress grounded in evidence-based care.
BCBA Virtual Assessments
Our assessment process is the foundation of meaningful care. Every family begins with a virtual intake and structured assessment led by a BCBA. These assessments are used to identify strengths, challenges, and the most appropriate strategies for care. We offer three types of virtual assessments:
The first is the Functional Behavior Assessment, or FBA. This process identifies the root cause of challenging or repetitive behaviors by using interviews, direct observation, caregiver input, and behavior tracking. The information collected helps our BCBAs develop customized behavior intervention plans that are practical, relevant, and family-centered.
The second is a skills assessment. Using evidence-based tools such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or AFLS, we evaluate communication, social skills, academics, and daily living abilities. These assessments allow us to understand your child’s developmental level and build meaningful goals that support independence and quality of life.
Finally, every family receives an Initial Behavior Plan Evaluation. After all assessments are complete, the BCBA delivers a detailed treatment plan that includes short-term goals, teaching strategies, progress milestones, caregiver responsibilities, and data tracking methods. Every plan is designed to be effective in a virtual environment and guided by collaboration with the family.
ABA Therapists (Registered Behavior Technicians)
Our behavior intervention plans are implemented by highly trained ABA therapists called Registered Behavior Technicians. These professionals work directly with your child in a virtual setting using strategies and goals outlined by the supervising BCBA. Each RBT is certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, has passed a national exam, and receives hands-on training in ethical behavior practices, data collection, and skill development. They are closely supervised by a BCBA throughout the care process to maintain clinical quality and accountability.
Our RBTs support your child in areas such as communication and language development, social emotional growth, daily routines, positive behavior change, and family collaboration. Their consistency and compassionate care help build trust while contributing to daily progress and long-term outcomes.
Why Families Trust Our Virtual BCBA-Led Services
We design every Behavior Intervention Plan to be individualized, flexible, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Our plans are shaped to fit your child’s needs and your family’s lifestyle. From day one, caregivers are supported through hands-on training and live virtual coaching so they can confidently reinforce what their child is learning.
Progress is tracked through secure systems that allow our BCBAs to monitor growth in real time. Regular meetings are held with families to review data, provide updates, and adjust goals to keep your child moving forward. Most importantly, we deliver care that is ethical, inclusive, and responsive to your family’s values, culture, and long-term vision. Every member of our ABA team follows the BACB Ethics Code and is trained in providing compassionate and culturally sensitive support.
Why Virtual ABA Works
Virtual ABA therapy is a clinically sound, research-backed option for families seeking high-quality care without barriers. It allows children to learn in familiar environments and helps caregivers feel more engaged in the process. When implemented consistently and ethically, virtual ABA leads to significant improvements in communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and daily living skills. Our approach is designed to be practical, flexible, and focused on long-term success.

Academic Support with Heart
Children’s Tutoring Services at Empowered Harmony Counseling, Psychiatry & Wellness Center
At Empowered Harmony Counseling, we understand that academic struggles are rarely just about schoolwork. Challenges with learning often walk alongside emotional stress, attention difficulties, trauma, or life transitions. That is why we have expanded our services to include trauma-informed, emotionally intelligent tutoring, because healing and learning belong in the same room.
Our K-8th grade tutoring program is more than homework support. We offer personalized academic guidance designed to empower the whole child. Each session is thoughtfully designed to meet the child where they are while nurturing emotional safety, self-confidence, and cognitive growth.
Services include foundational reading and math support, executive function coaching for skills like time management and focus, confidence building, creative approaches for neurodivergent learners, and tutoring tailored for children navigating grief, anxiety, or major life transitions.
Our tutors are trained to collaborate with therapists, BCBAs, and families to ensure each child receives consistent, compassionate care. We create safe, encouraging environments where children feel seen, supported, and capable of success.
This service is ideal for students who are struggling with focus, anxiety, or trauma, children with ADHD, autism, or learning differences, and kids falling behind academically due to emotional stress or significant life changes. It is also a valuable resource for families seeking academic support that honors mental wellness as much as academic growth.
At Empowered Harmony, we believe academic success is a wellness issue. When a child feels safe, supported, and understood, they are far more likely to thrive, both in the classroom and beyond. Let us help your child reconnect with their brilliance, one session at a time.
